Exposing Falsehoods and Revealing Truths

Excerpt from the Afterword of "Facts Talk but the Guilty Walk"

"...And where did the insiders go after the crime [of 9/11]?  They went right back to work inside our government promoting the story of a lack of foreknowledge of the attacks but that the United States had found the enemy and must start fighting back.  Not only that, two of the insiders, Vice President Cheney and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, talked quite a bit about the next enemy, Iraq.[1]

Dr. Rice spoke of a “broad war on terrorism” and how Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was a “dangerous” man in her Meet the Press appearance on November 18, 2001.  Cheney, speaking on the same show just five days after the attacks, told Tim Russert that though there was no “hard evidence” linking Iraq to 9/11, the United States still had a “tough policy” on the nation.

The rest of the Bush Administration sold the war policy as well.  This should not have surprised anyone.  Many of its members favored a more hawkish foreign policy than the previous administration, as noted earlier.

Everything lined up for the events of 9/11 to cause the changes that the signers of PNAC said they wanted just a few years earlier.  The public, upon hearing of a terrible crime committed by a group of people it already believed capable of carrying out terrorist acts against the United States, swung in full force by the solution that the Bush Administration called for..."

reminds me of what happened after JFK was taken out, LBJ etc. got right back to work.  The only difference was that instead of blaming the Soviets and risk a nuclear war, they blamed one of their low level intel ops, Lee Oswald.
