The UN Migration Compact, officially the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), is the first-ever intergovernmentally negotiated UN agreement for managing international migration. Endorsed by the UN General Assembly in December 2018, the non-legally binding compact provides a framework for cooperation on migration, with 23 objectives and actions based on human rights and international law, aiming to create comprehensive migration policies and improve the lives of migrants and host communities.
