9/11 conspiracy theories rife in Muslim world I STANBUL – About a week ago,
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared to the United Nations
that most people in the world believe the United States was behind the
terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
To
many people in the West, the statement was ludicrous, almost laughable
if it
weren't so incendiary. And surveys show that a majority of the world
does not in fact believe that the U.S. orchestrated the attacks. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101002/ap_on_re_eu/eu_attacks_the_theo...
Oh
really? Most people I know do not believe a single word of the U. S.
government's 9/11 conspiracy theory. Maybe you are not familiar with the
following surveys:
In an October 2006 poll by New York Times/CBS News only 16% of the respondents believe that the U. S. government is telling the truth about 9/11.
In an August 2004 Zogby poll 49.3% of New York City residents and 41% of New York citizens overall say
that some of our leaders "Knew in advance that attacks were planned on
or around September 11, 2001, and that they consciously failed to act." http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.cfm?ID=855

Most of the jet fuel, principally kerosene, burned up in those fireballs in the first fifteen seconds or so. Below the 96th floor in the North Tower and the 80th in the South, they were stone cold steel, which functioned as a massive heat sink dissipating the heat from building up on the steel.
#
The melting point of steel at 2,800 degrees F is 1,000 degrees higher than the maximum burning temperature of jet-fuel-based fires, which do not exceed 1,800 degrees under optimal conditions. The NIST examined 236 samples of steel and 233 had not been exposed to temperatures above 500 degrees F and the others not above 1200.
#
Underwriters Laboratory certified the steel in the buildings up to 2,000 degrees F for three or four hours without any significant effects, where these fires burned neither long enough or hot enough—at an average temperature of about 500 degrees for about one hour in the South Tower and one and a half in the North—to weaken, much less melt.
#
If the steel had melted or weakened, then the affected floors would have displayed completely different behavior, with some degree of asymmetrical sagging and tilting, which would have been gradual and slow, not the complete, abrupt and total demolition that was observed. Which means the NIST cannot even explain the initiation of any “collapse” sequence.

What a wonderful, lively debate! I am so grateful this most important topic has been breached here at HuffPo. Just the fact that these questions are being raised is so important to our Democratic Republic. That this most horrible crime which led us into two illegal wars killing over a million people, gutted our Constitutional rights, and now requires you to submit to the radiation your bodies in order to travel, that this devastating attack on innocent New Yorkers, and the Bravest and Finest, is at all under question should send Americans into the streets with burning torches. Better yet Americans should go on a general strike, refuse to participate in the buying of any goods, refuse to pay taxes to the war machine, walk off the job and walk out of their schools. If this is allowed to go by unchecked, WHAT WILL BE NEXT?

Over 1 in 3 are not deceived, and we will not be silent any longer.
Empire is an old ruthless trait of humankind, but this Empire can't get away with it, not in spirit nor in our conscience at least. Others bore the cross of past empires when they spoke up, we only need to face the "conspiracy theorist" label.
Demand KSM is tried in an article 3 court -- if Obama wants to be a man of history, he will not block a fair KSM trial. That is where this conspiracy needs to be settled once and for all to see.

A healthy distrust of the government is a good thing....that is FAR different than a belief that an unnamed group of mentally ill Black Operatives under orders from some unnamed government authority wired three world trade center buildings with tons of explosive without ANYONE noticing and then timed them to go off AFTER airplanes were flown in to two of the towers and the Pentagon!
That my friend is wacko beyond anything other conspiracy theorists ever dreamed up by the mentally ill fringe who like to believe that the government is evil --- all the while using the infrastructure like electricity, roads, telephones, internet services, etc etc that the government supplies to them.

Please explain the molten steel found in the WTC rubble.
Also, both WTC buildings underwent the largest elevator renovation in modern history, providing maintenance workers with unfettered access to the towers' core columns.
FBI counterterrorism expert John O’Neill privately discusses White House obstruction in his bin Laden investigation. O’Neill says, “The main obstacles to investigate Islamic terrorism were US oil corporate interests and the role played by Saudi Arabia in it.” He adds, “All the answers, everything needed to dismantle Osama bin Laden’s organization, can be found in Saudi Arabia.” O’Neill also believes the White House is obstructing his investigation of bin Laden because they are still keeping the idea of a pipeline deal with the Taliban open.
O'Neill, who was reassigned to direct security at the WTC towers, showed up to his first day of work of 9/11 and tragically died in the attacks.

Really? More wacko than the conspiracy theory that Arabs with box cutters commandeered four jumbo jets, found their targets and hit them while exceeding the maximum controllable or even achievable speed of these jets by 200 Knots?
More wacko than planes slipping inside massive steel structures without even the courtesy to decelerate, blatantly in violation of Newtons second law of motion? More wacko than the conspiracy theory that planes were left to fly about for an hour and a half without being intercepted when multiple hijackings were known about? MORE wacko than Islamic terrorists picking the same day for their "attack" that there were multiple war game exercises injecting false radar blips on the radar screens of Air Traffic Controllers simulating -gasp- jet plane attacks on the Pentagon and Twin Towers? Now that's the most psychopathic position I've ever heard, and -gosh- you've invested so much in your outrageous conspiracy theory, Ric, that you must repeat the same twisted sickness over and over and over again. Are you really that threatened by people asking questions based on high school physics? Are YOU a PERP, Ric?

This was actually up on Huffington Post for a few hours today! It's their fist mention of the topic since they pulled Jesse's article. 1200 comments so far, mine don't usually get posted though. You can guess why.
