Doubtful about laser weapon

This article from 2008 says a test was planned for the next year. I've heard nothing more about it, so it may exist now, but did it exist in 2001, when 9/11 took place? I doubt it. Also the weapon described would supposedly be able to burn a hole in a tank. This is far from being able to burn a plane-sized hole in a building.

I know Dr. Judy Wood at one time hypothesized a laser as the source of the hole in the building, but I don't find this to be a likely explanation, firstly, because the existing videos do not show anything like this happening to the building. Granted, it remains a mystery how the plane-shaped hole was created. I feel certain it wasn't a plane that made it, so I assume it was made by explosives. But how and exactly where explosives would have had to have been placed to create the hole is unclear.

My main, completely unscientific response is that the technology could easily been available in 2001 and it only becoming something appropriate for a press release in 2008.

I haven't been much of a Judy Wood fan. Yet, she focuses attn. on many extremely distinct parts of the WTC scene which may be keys to understanding which weapons were deployed. The Grad student (from Clemson) murdered in Minneapolis must have know something....
