Exposing Falsehoods and Revealing Truths

Sandy has suggested that we have a space for open discussion of topics that may be off-topic. That's fine with me. Let's see if the "Discussion" option will serve that purpose. Please give it a shot. Jim

you are so correct! Someone had on the nbc news last night (I of course never listen to that stuff unless I'm stuck in a room with other people watching it) and I heard the following buzzwords: Al Qaeda, Yemen, Nigeria, explosives, the shoe bomber, and Obama giving the public the reassuring speech about keeping them safe over the holidays .
Shermer appears to be a purveyor of misinformation. He is wrong on JFK and wrong on 9/11--and should know better!

Shermer appearance on coast to coast

Michael Shermer appeared last night on Geory Noory's radio show. He claims to be a "skeptic" (whatever that means). But his tone sounds more like the dark side's . For example, he supports the OBL did 911 and 7/7 official line, hook , line, and sinker. He talks about the National Geographic special as a great documentary.

He thinks there is merit to Posner's Case Closed. He actually believes Oswald did it alone, unbelievable.
For example, he says Oswald got his job at the book depository before Kennedy's trip was planned to Dallas. Huh? How could he possibly know what the intelligence people knew ahead of time?

Of course, he trumpets that "Conspiracy Theorist" tin foil hat nonsense. Does he understand the rules of logic and inference to best explanation? Some kind of "skeptic"
Shermer appears to have been set up to play the role of apologist for the official account on serious matters. After all, who is going to challenge the editor of THE SKPETIC, which has it office on the campus of CalTech? Give me a break.

Happy 2010 Sandy, Thoth, and all -

It really is like a bad acid trip these days. I cannot fly since I will not remove my shoes or any other layers of clothing for a lie, and will tell them that bin Laden packed my bags, and laundered my undies, and then it would be off to Guantanamo leaving you guys without the benefit of my keen wit ;)

Here's the Health Ranger's take on the situation. Mike is a real renaissance man, who has a lot of great info for our health and well-being.

Sorry to hear you had to endure nbc or msnsa or comcrap or GE (your friendly reactor waste company), Thoth.

Pharmaceuticals are more dangerous to your health than terrorists' exploding underwear (satire)

(NaturalNews) As all of North America now seems to be focused on the issue of one terrorist wearing a pair of exploding underwear, I might as well comment on this latest bit of security theater that seems to have transfixed the nation. Pictures of the exploding underwear "bomb" have now surfaced on the 'net. You can view them at ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/north...

Here is exactly what the text on this page says (I'm not making this up, this is seriously true): (warning: Some of the content here is graphic, read at your own risk...)

"The first photo, to the left, shows the slightly charred and singed underpants with the bomb packet still in place."

I don't know what you think, but if you did an underwear search of all the passengers flying these days, you'd probably find half of them are wearing underwear that's slightly charred and singed with the "bomb packet" still in place.

The gastrointestinal health of the general population is atrocious! And by the time you add in some airport food and in-flight processed food snacks, pretty much everyone on the airplane is setting off a little bomb packet by the time they get off the plane. (Why do you think everybody can't wait to get off in such a hurry?)

Processed food has turned us all into in-flight terrorists!

Frankly, I'm not sure what's more of a threat to public health: Lousy airport security or the digestive effects of in-flight meals. But they both have one thing in common: Underwear...

How to explode your rectum without harming anyone nearby

The ABC News story mentioned above goes on to state that this terrorist's underwear was packing 80 grams of an explosive powder called PETN, which government tests have revealed can blow a (tiny) hole in the wall of an airplane.

This is all brilliant stuff, of course. Truly brilliant. This whole idea that underwear explosives might destroy an airplane all makes sense except for the fact that the terrorist's butt cheeks are in the way!

Had this explosive packet actually been set off, I can tell you exactly what would have happened: There would have been a really loud pop, immediately followed by in-flight pieces of exploding butt cheeks.

I'm not trying to be funny here. This is a true description of the way bombs work. They explode outward, destroying whatever is closest to them first. And this guy actually had this bomb wedged in between his butt cheeks. A sort of "wedgie bomb", if you will. A wedgie with a bang.

This is a serious discussion. There was an attempted assassination of a Middle Eastern prince that happened not long ago. It was even reported in the press. The assassin had somehow managed to shove explosives into his rectum -- I swear I'm not making this up -- and waltzed right through security with it. He then shuffled toward his target, fired off the bomb and subsequently blew his butt cheeks all over the room... without harming anyone else.

Brilliant, huh?

Think about it. In World War II films, you know how you always see brave soldiers throwing themselves on an enemy grenade to protect their squad buddies? That actually works because whoever is on top of the grenade absorbs the explosion. It's basic physics.

In the case of super wedgie terrorist, he's sitting right on top of the explosive powder! Who do you think is going to absorb the full force of the explosion? It's going to be the guy sitting on it.

thanks

I actually have to endure that stuff whenever I'm stuck in waiting rooms they usually have CNN blaring . People are being duped by this nonsense, which is probably why they keep it rolling. I really believe that most of those young reporters they have on there have no understanding whatever about what they are reading. They just need a career and read whatever they are being fed, probably ultimately it's all coming from CIA and NSA.
You said it, bro, these networks just spout this infotainment fear crap day in day out.It boggles the mind that people fall for it again and again and again. I mean CNN showing Georgian mobile rocket launchers and saying the are Russian?
Just look at this joker reporting from the first gulf war - "This Scud's for you." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr1aVEl1yE4
(Listen for the electric fan blowing the fake palm tree.)

When will they bring back the terror color alert? You know it's bound to happen.

sad news: Jim DiEugenio finally has made a big mistake: he firmly is staying "agnostic" on Z film alteration because he doesn't want to spend a decade on the Z film, and he's a careful studier. He doesn't seem to understand the implication of this. After John Costella's work and now the topper , Doug Horne's Inside the ARRB, I think the ball game is over: the film was fabricated! And this is not the small thing people might think, it is major. It totally distorts the events of the assassination like taking out the limo stop that goes right to secret service complicity, it doesn't clearly show the several impacts on JFK and Connally . Plus, it means the CIA had the film and altered it! If Lee Oswald did it, why did they alter it? Who was Zapruder? Too bad Jim doesn't get this.
Thoth II, I've even had him as a featured guest on "The Real Deal"! That is truly unbelievable. I'll have to ask him.

Yes on a recent black op program, Jim D. described the Z-film alteration researchers as a "cabal" with strong arm tactics. He just doesn't get it. John Costella is a brilliant expert in optics, and he proved there are physically impossible features in the film: get these apples: people in the car are seen to be violently lurching forward while the car is still moving - IMPOSSIBLE! and when laws of physics are violated , ball game over. And now I was reading Horne's treatise and he proves that 2 sets of briefing boards were prepared that weekend at NPIC - why?
only to alter the film of course: so much for the usual WC cover story. Sadly, he even repeats that old canard about all the films would have been altered! He's one step behind Horne, Horne shows that the films ARE inconsistent, and on and on.

Ok, 50 years have passed. It's time for the truth and nothing but the truth in all its ugliness to come out! We deserve that much. And I don't have patience for people who stand in the way of that truth. 50 years is long enough.
Is Republican healthcare propaganda working?

One of the frustrating things I've had over last 40 years or so is arguing with fellow Americans over healthcare. One thing I often hear people saying is that Canadian healthcare is inferior to American healthcare because of long waiting lists. That sure doesn't seem as important to me as access, which all Canadians have, but all Americans don't. Plus what if you are layed off and lose your health insurance? And how can any civil society tolerate insurance companies, the same people who handle fire and auto insurance, to handle health?

Now, I have been seeing report over the healthcare debate in US. I am astounded by the number of men /women in the street who say: I don't want a national healthcare system because it'll increase my taxes. I would say to them, how much are you already paying in taxes and is it being used wisely? How much more percentage taxes does a typical Canadian pay to their national govt. than an American, but they get healthcare for that dollar.

Has republican propaganda worked? It seems like it's been very effective.
"Inside the ARRB" by Doug Horne: the BIBLE of JFK.

Trash your Warren Commission, a new official treatise has appeared on the scene, only this one is honest. I say official because after all, it was inside an official government investigation. But this one, I am reading, is so well organized and simple to understand. The evidence is laid out and he draws obvious conclusions. Now if they'd done this one in 1964, maybe our democracy could have been saved.
The reason there is no video with this is that Osama has gone from using "Gracian Formula"
to having a rainbow afro ala Todd Rundgren in the 70's.

The CIA don't think it is very moooslim of him!

I'm going and drink a gallon of Haitian Rhum and light myself on fire.

Voice Claiming To Be Bin Laden Takes Responsiblity For Plane Plot

Osama bin Laden, or someone claiming to be him, is trying to take some of the responsibility for the Christmas Day attempt to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet as it approached Detroit.

As the Associated Press writes, an audio recording aired by Al Jazeera today "suggests the al-Qaida leader wants to appear in direct command of the terrorist group's many affiliates around the world at time when some analysts have suggested he is mostly a figurehead."

The voice, saying he is ending a message from "Osama to Obama," says to President Barack Obama that "the message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes of the Sept. 11. ... America will never dream of security unless we will have it in reality in Palestine."

Abdulmutallab is the young Nigerian man who is accused of trying to ignite explosives hidden in his underwear in a bid to bring the plane down.

It has to be noted, though, that there's no way of knowing yet whether the voice on the recording really is or is not that of bin Laden.

Al Jazeera has put a copy of the recording online. Here's what it sounds like:

On CNN's State of the Union today, White House adviser David Axelrod said that whomever the voice is, the message "contains the same hollow justification for the mass slaughter of innocents."
