Subject: A newly released video shows the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attack from the vantage point of a NYPD helicopter.

A newly released video shows the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attack from the vantage point of a NYPD helicopter.

According to Gawker <http://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/yblog_thelookout/us_yblog_thel... , the National Institute of Standards and Technology requested the 17-minute video through the Freedom of Information Act, and the video was sent anonymously to the secret-sharing website Cryptome, which posted it. The Institute investigated <http://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/yblog_thelookout/us_yblog_thel...  the 9/11 attacks.

A warning to readers: The video, posted below, is difficult to watch--and voices on the soundtrack can be heard cursing as the horrific attack unfolds.

I've looked at the video in question several times, and agree with Chuck and Jim about it being pretty much worthless as

far as we're concerned.  I believe the distortion is purposely created by someone improperly adjusting either the skew or

tracking on the playback deck.   While tape edge stretch due to misaligned tape guides could be blamed, it looks like just

a simple knob maladjustment was used to cover their tracks.  I agree with Thoth ll about the missing demolition segment.  I did catch something at  11:36 which sounds like a 14 second countdown to a  cut at  11:50 .   I personally

don't think it's worth wasting too much time on due to the poor quality video and the source (NIST) of the video.  As Jim said,  it looks like another lame psyop attempt.

Chuck is no doubt right.  Its release would appear to be a psyop reminder of the events of 9/11 in order to keep the public "on the edge" mentally and emotionally as a subtle form of psychological reinforcement.

The video is essentially worthless, a lot to do about nothing...

No new information can be gleaned from this except that the NYPD on the helicopter were very suprised to see the Towers demises...

I hope one of the expert video people out there will look at this , because I am always hesitant to comment on these videos, because that isn't my thing.  But I would swear frames are deleted or something from this segment at about 12:30 into the video.  I was watching for the 10 second destruction phase of the tower shown, but I don't see it.  What I see is a 90% intact tower just before 12:30, then a sudden change in the scene where the tower suddenly looks all turned to dust, but I don't see the progression for 10 seconds of the destruction.  I find that strange.
